We've started using Forms 10, and one thing we noticed is that tasks accessed from the task list open in a brand new browser window.
Users find this confusing and frustrating. Is there a way to change it so that they open a new tab or something?

Ctrl+clicking the link for a task will make it open in a tab rather than a new window.
It would be nice if we could have an option to reverse that behavior.
We have users using webaccess and forms, and having a consistent behavior between the products would make their life a little bit easier.
WebAccess opens a new browser tab when opening a document. So opening a new tab when clicking on a task would seem to make sense.
I believe they made the change because some people thought it was confusing the way it was in Forms 9. We had lots of users trying to close out of the task, but would end up closing the entire browser instead and then would have to reopen it and log back in. I'm not sure if that's the reason, but I know it has helped a lot of our users.
Interesting. That makes sense though. I think having them open in a new tab would be a happy medium.

Hmm, I didn't think of that. It will take some training the users, but that's fine. Thanks Miruna!
I think we had code that would open a task in a new browser tab, instead of a new browser window, but since we upgraded to Laserfiche Forms 11 Update 5, it must have wiped out those changes. Some of my users are complaining that it opens a new browser window now, after the update. They say it's inconvenient whenever they are viewing the different attachments and screens.
Can anyone share the code to make tasks open in a new browser tab? I can't remember what it was, and can't find it in my notes. I think it was only one line of code in a file on the Laserfiche Forms server.
