I am trying to give an employee access to a couple of subfolders. Please see attached pictures. I want them to see Personnel Files Inactive and Medical which contain the shortcuts. The folder Terminated I have them set with access rights to browse and read. For the two subfolders I want them to see, they have more rights. Please see example attached user: M. Christopher. They keep getting an error message. Suggestions please on what I haven't done right.

The setup on the folders themselves should be ok (you can confirm by placing a non-shortcut document in there). Since these documents are shortcuts though, you'll need to ensure the user has read on the actual document the shortcut is pointing to, not just the shortcut itself. To confirm this, you need to check the effective rights from the original document, rights on the shortcut only matter for browse, rename, delete, read/modify security (since all other actions actually take place on the original document itself).

That's what it was. Rights on the original document. Thank you!
