how to stay safe with publishing the Laserfiche Mobile and Web Access over internet

asked on February 8, 2016 Show version history

my client is looking for  publishing Laserfiche data via mobile and web access to be accessible over internet, however they want to be sure that is safe and secure and can;t be hacked by any manner,

as we know if we place laserfiche server , mobile and web access inside DMZ will be more secured.

is that enough to have the maximum security? or do we need SSL access ??  does laserfiche assure data /; sever never be hacked if we follow the correct and best practice of implementing and configuring servers as per laserfiche recommendation ???

or using client VPN will more secure and take off the complete responsibility as implementer and rely on theier VPN secruty ?

what is the best practice to proceed with publishing Laserfiche Data over internet

Hello Mohammed,

It sounds like your client would want the content on the server to be easily accessible to many different requests, so having an outward-facing Web Access/Mobile setup with a DMZ is the way to go as opposed to having many VPN connections.

It is a best practice to implement a DMZ if you decide to host web-based Laserfiche modules. In your DMZ setup, you would make the web servers such as Mobile and Web Access more outward facing to the wider internet, while keeping the Laserfiche Server in the most internal zone of your DMZ to keep it protected even if the web servers are hacked. For added levels of security, the Laserfiche modules also support SSL, which you should implement for the maximum level of security.
