A way to select all fields from a template when customizing view

Currently, when it comes to customizing our view of columns in Laserfiche, the only way to modify the columns we see is to uncheck everything we're currently looking at, and check off anything we want to have in our list of columns individually.

Would it be possible, in a future release, to have the ability to have a check box beside the template name (when right-clicking on the column headers and choosing More), and all of the fields within that particular template would be selected (for columns to view), without having the need to select each column individually?

Hi Marty,

I definitely welcome this change, but there is a fairly easy way to accomplish this. If you go through the More... menu when you click on the columns, you can easily mass select/deselect options and all the fields are listed by templates. It takes way too long to go through the context menus.

I'm currently using the More menu option, when right-clicking on the headers, to select individual fields based on the various templates we have. What we were hoping was to have, within the More menu, the ability to have something like a check box beside each template title that would select all template fields relating to that template en masse (instead of checking off each one individually).

If you double-click a template name in that dialog, it will check all of the boxes corresponding to fields in that template, at least in the 10 Client.

Did not know you could do that - sweet! I'm passing that one on...

So can I modify this request to ask for a way to clear all the template fields that are checked?

If the fields are already selected, double-clicking the template name will deselect them.

Hi Jim:

When I have most of a template's fields selected, and I double click the template name (on the "More" screen), it selects the rest of the template fields and places them into view. When I have all of a template's fields selected, I am unable to see the template name on the "More" screen anymore.

Am I looking in the right place?

That's odd, Marty, unless we're talking about two different things.

When I right-click on column headers and select More..., I get the standard Browser>Columns Options window. Then I can scroll down to find the template name (in this screenshot, the template name is Client:

If none of the fields are already selected, double-clicking the template name selects them all; if all of the fields are selected, double-clicking the template name deselected them all; if some are selected and some are not, double-clicking the template name first selects them all, then double-clicking again deselects them.

Are you getting different behavior than this?

Oh - I see what you mean now. If you've brought up all the template fields in one template, but you want to want to uncheck them at that point, that works. However, if I select all the template fields, click OK, close the window, and try to go back in again, I can't uncheck all the fields in the same way (because the template title is no longer available).
