Version control prompt or notification

A user has asked if it is possible to get a notification when a change is made to a document under version control. For example, one user checks out a document, edits it, then checks it back in. Is there a way to configure a notification (ie, email) when another user makes a change to the same document?

Hi Kathy,

You could use a workflow to generate an email notification when a document is changed, the hard part would be defining the criteria that needs to be met in order to generate the email. You would need to asses the rules for this and translate this into a starting rule for a workflow. If it was always the same user making the changes your could add that into the starting rule (for example).
