Question

Saving multiple attachments and updating metadata once

asked on February 1, 2016

Hi,

I have a number of clients who would like to automate the archiving of emails. Based on other posts this cannot be done with out writing a script or looking at integration packages like MagniMail. If there is another way, please gladly share your ideas.

However since I am still doing research a client has come up with the following dilemma:

Please refer to the below screen prints.  This current process depends on Offers to be scanned in.  In some instances there is more than t is one email with 2 or more attachments.

The client is fully aware that you can print the doc using snapshot including attachments in Outlook, however the metadata fields need to be updated with the same info 3 times, which is not very efficient.  Also Laserfiche creates three documents.

Will the following be possible:
1.    Update of metadata once only
2.    Only one doc must be created.  Any additional docs that get printed must be added to the original doc.

Screen grabs below:

Any ideas on how this is possible?

Thank you in advance.

You're right, the only way to automate archiving emails is via scripts or an integration from the Integration Marketplace.

In regards to your scenario,is it required to save the documents as a TIFF? If not, you can use the Office integration to save the email and attachments into Laserfiche either as one email, or as seperate documents:
