Question

What is best Way to Print the entire Form From a Browser?

asked on January 29, 2016

I have run into several issues in the past where a Form is not saved to Laserfiche.

Either the form gets saved into Laserfiche, but with no images or the document does not get passed the "Save to Laserfiche" activity and is stuck requiring the user to resubmit the form.

I would like to know for future reference how to print a Form or the entire web page without it cutting off the form.

Please let me know if any browser supports this feature. Currently, Chrome cuts off the Form when it is trying to print just the page in view.

It would be nice to have a download button similar to the one available after you submit a form, within a User Task view.

I don't think there is a direct answer to this question due to how differently each browser renders html and css rules when "printing" the page. The best way we have overcome this is after the form has been submitted, there is a "Download" (must be allowed in the business process start event) button that converts the page to PDF, which is a very close representation of the page ready to print, which we then open and print. Not the best solution, but a viable workaround.

I would also like to add we would like to avoid adding an html button to print the window pane when a user selects the html button. Users do not want this button added to their forms.

We could never get the webpage to look right so we ended up making a workflow that saves the forms data to a fillable PDF and then you get emailed a link, or the PDF, to you.
