Question

Public Portal and Weblink

asked on January 27, 2016

In reviewing my notes from Empower 2015 it seems that Weblink and Public Portal are 2 separate things. While looking at my notes from Empower 2016 I understood them to be the same. Can someone clarify the difference if there is one?

Thanks,

Scotty Lynn

Hi Scotty,

Public Portal is a licensing construct that's associated with a Laserfiche Server instance. To take advantage of Public Portal licensing though, the users will need to be connecting to the repository through the WebLink product.

WebLink itself is a web-based client that provides read-only access to the repository.
