Question

Editing an already submitted form in Forms 10 by an approver and Calculation capabilities.

asked on January 26, 2016 Show version history

I need to confirm the following capabilities in Forms 10 for a potential client:

- Can a  form submitted by a forms participant be edited on the fly during the approval process by an approver to correct for example expense table values and then approve it in it's changed state ?

- Can Forms 10 perform complex calculations without scripting such as subtracting, multiplying  and totaling individual line items in a variable length table within a section and performing a total of all rows? Additionally can each section total be added to a grand total of all sections?

Please see attached excel.

Thanks,

Yes, a form can be edited by an approver assigned to a user task that the form gets assigned to. There is also the option to check a box on a user task to make it read only.

Using Forms 10 field calculations are now built in. See the following link https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/administration/#../Subsystems/Forms/Content/FieldCalculations.htm%3FTocPath%3DForms%7CCreating%2520a%2520Form%7C_____3. That being said, Forms currently cannot calculate values within the same table row, but that will be added in Forms 10 SP1 due out the end of Q1.

Thanks very much for the prompt response Blake,

I was wondering in particular about summing the sections containing totals from each table as well but I understand that is not an issue either.

Really appreciate that.
