Recommended Number of Cores for Forms 10?

asked on January 26, 2016 Show version history

Morning Folks,

I have recently upgraded to LF10. I really like all the new features. However, I find it extremly slow compared to LF9.

What is the recommend number of cores to assign?

Hi Doug,

The help files are here - https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/administration/#../Subsystems/Forms/Content/Administration/Installation.htm

Seems to recommend:-

Server Requirements

  • CPU: 4-core or more CPU
  • Memory: 4 GB (8 GB recommended)
  • Operating system:
    • Windows 7
    • Windows 8
    • Windows 8.1
    • Windows 10
    • Windows Server 2008 (SP 2+)
    • Windows Server 2008 R2
    • Windows Server 2012
    • Windows Server 2012 R2

For systems running IIS 7, ASP.NET must be enabled. For systems running IIS 8, ASP.NET 4.5 must be enabled.

Hope this helps answer your question! smileyyes

We also noticed the slowness. See here.

Right now we're running it inside a VM with a quad-core 2.50 Ghz CPU and 8GB RAM, but it hasn't helped much. We'll bump it up and continue testing.

We found that hitting LF Forms by the internal IP address made it much faster.
