Repository Search Index issues after version 10 upgrade

posted on January 25, 2016

This past week, we upgraded our test and production environments of Laserfiche to version 10.  When we did, we were prompted to upgrade a number of our repositories' search indexes to the latest version.  Despite doing this, we are getting the following error:

Error connecting to the search engine.  Either the search engine is offline, or the search engine connection settings are misconfigured.  Please contact your Laserfiche administrator.

Immediately above this message, there is an option to change search engine settings.  I have left it, at the moment, as <servername>, port 5053, but this doesn't seem to work in our production environment (even though it *does* work in our test environment).

Is there something else I should be doing differently?  Should I try the IP address of the server instead of the actual name?  Could this possibly be because anti-virus or something might be interfering with our production environment and not our test environment?

The search indexes in both test and production are going to network drives in the same location, so I'm not sure why this would be working in one instance and not another.  If anyone had any thoughts as to why this might not be working, I'd be more than open to any suggestions - thanks!
