From my understanding, we could use workflow to assign couple of fields to a folder without assigning any template. When i try to do that without giving any values it doesn't assign those fields but when i enter some random values it assigns those fields.

Is this is a bug or do i have to assign some random values to get the fields on the folder and then use workflow again to remove those values?
