Feature Request - Browse button from other applications/websites able to select documents in Laserfiche

asked on January 21, 2016

Hi All,

Users frequently need to upload documents from LF to websites or other systems.

When doing so, it is only possible via Windows Explorer.  This means they need to place another copy of the document into a folder before they can do that.

This is not ideal because:

1)    It’s not efficient
2)    Duplication of documents

Is there anything in place to allow uploading straight from Laserfiche or any news of this possibility in the future?

Perhaps Laserfiche could utilize the same technology provided by the likes of Onedrive and Dropbox as they do appear in this browse window.

Cheers!

I believe this is the integration you are looking for. wink

The feature is called Web Folders and is available as part of WebAccess.

To clarify, this has nothing to do with Web Access.  You're setting up the client machine to talk directly with LFS.

You have my vote on this as well...

I also have a customer who would like to upload Laserfiche documents to their web application. Is there still a way to accomplish this through integrations?

Please let me know ASAP!

Just to add some closure to this. The reason it wasn't working for me was because I didn't have a default repository set.

A default repository set where?

In the Server Settings node of the Laserfiche Administration Console.

Nice Blake!

Although I can't seem to get it working on our network. We have web access which works fine but can't seem to get web folders setup.

https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/9.2/en-US/AdminGuide/LFAdmin.htm#web_Folders_Configuration.htm

I get the following error when trying to add the network location.

Also the guide mentions it should be http://ServerName/lf not http://ServerName/laserfiche like you would expect?

Any ideas? (or wonder if it's been dropped in LF10 as that's the version we are using)

Edit:- Laserfiche server service is running as domain admin FYI.

"http://ServerName/lf" does not work for me... I have opened a support case with support.

In Ali's case, he needed to use the server IP address instead of the hostname when configuring the network place. Also, the Windows account he was using to authenticate needed rights to the repository.

Thanks Alexander, I've opened a support case to troubleshoot this further.
