Question

schema exists in this database.[LF332-SchemaAlreadyExists] Forms 10

asked on January 19, 2016

I am setting up a demo machine and I am at the Forms Configuration page. I choose the Server Name and then the Database name. When I hit save button I receive the error "Schema exists in this database.[LF332.SchemaAlreadyExists]"

If I close out of the page and start over I receive the same error. I have restarted the machine and checked security settings in SQL Server Management Studio...

Are you selecting an existing database that's being used by another application? If you are using an existing database, make sure it's an actual Forms database (or a blank database for a new setup). Otherwise, you can manually type in a new database name and let Forms create it.

Alex-

I had created a blank database in SSMS, because I was receiving an error before. So just now I deleted the DB and was letting Froms create one, but I receive the error, "Error ]42000\ ]Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server] CREATE DATABASE permission denied in database 'master'.

I am just using a local system account to run all services since this is a standalone machine running Windows 10 Pro 64bit and it is not part of a domain.

Thanks,

Chad

Can you confirm the database you had created was blank? You would have received a prompt indicating

[Database Name] does not have any tables. Would you like to create a new one?

In any case, if you were to type in a new database name and let Forms create it, and depending on the authentication option you had selected, the account that connects to SQL will need the dbcreator fixed server role.
