I have an end user with a really basic workflow that works all the way through until it gets to the end, which is a route entry to folder function. It hangs up here, terminates the workflow, and just doesn't move the files. Here is the workflow as it sits with all of the properties for each step. We made sure all permission were allowed on the folder level in the client but things still did not work. Also, a test workflow was setup with the retrieve filed values and extract the year pattern match omitted, along with a route to a test folder just to make sure that wasn't the conflict. Has anyone else ever struggled with this or have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Question
Question
Workflow 8.3, unable to route entry to folder.
Answer
What entry is configured to be routed in your "Route entry to folder" activity? Please make sure that it's using the current entry from the "for each entry" activity, similar to how you have it set up for the "retrieve field values" activity.

In the Workflow Designer, do a search by Workflow name. When the results come up, open it and go to the messages tab to find out what it is doing. Post the message here.
Typically, they could be getting a permission denied error which should appear there. You should check the Profile account used by the problem Workflow and make sure it has access rights to the folder or the rights to create the folder to begin with.
This is what's showing in the messages

Hey alex,
As stated, the user is using 8.3.......I've only ever used version 9, being newer here. We see those properties on our end here, but 8.3 doesn't seem to have an area to look for those in the "route to entry folder" step. Is there another way to look for this and change it to current entry? here's a screenshot of what the user has. For us, that is down below the wait conditions in the properties, but it's blank for the user.
Next to the "Route Entry to Folder" name, click on the chevrons and enable the "Entry" option.
Alex,
I had the user go in and do this and it worked. Raymond, thanks for your insight on this as well. Have a good weekend, guys!
Says Entry not found. Your search is not finding anything so it is not creating any folders from the Extracted year.
