CPU utilization with LF Connector in Terminal server environment

asked on January 12, 2016

Hi,

Our customer has found that LFC.exe seems to be starting for all logged in users and is causes 100% CPU utilisation. (80% currently, LFC adds 20%)

Can you please advise how they can limit this to run only for user who need this?

They have unchecked “Launch on startup” on each of the 4 Terminal servers however this does not affect all users however the next user who logged in had LFC.exe launch automatically.

Their setup is 4 Terminal Servers in a Windows Server 2008 R2 Terminal Server load balanced farm with Profiles redirected to a network share.

Can you please advise if Connector can be configured to run only for the AP team only users who need to integrate with Laserfiche ?

They are using all latest builds for version 9.

many thanks for your help

Hi Warren,

We were trying to configure Terminal Server in our environment, but it delayed due to the conference. For the customer, Laserfiche Connector works as expect. When Laserfiche Connector is installed, the installer writes autorun registry to HKCU hive, which is echoed to the shadow key. Because of "Terminal Server Registry Mapping", next user will receive the new keys, in other words, LFC automatically runs since the autorun registry exists.

To limit auto start to run only for users who need it, I would suggest to install Laserfiche Connector with "automatically run" unchecked. If people want to use it, please manually check "Launch on startup" in the option dialog.
