For those of you (I've seen numerous posts) who have asked if there was a way to get the Created By field to reflect a user instead of ADMIN or WORKFLOW in cases such as when the IMPORT AGENT has brought the documents in, I have found a solution today. Thought I'd get it out here for anyone else who is still struggling with this.
Currently, we can't, but why would we want to change the Created By field? Example case: New mail gets scanned and brought into LF via the Import Agent and, in each case, gives them all the ADMIN name. This doesn't reflect which scanner/user brought them in. This has been a significant frustration for those of us who are monitoring for quality control. For many of these documents, Last Modified By doesn't reflect who didn't bother to make sure the document was scanned properly or wrongly templated, since Workflow gets it's name in there due to some of our automated processes.
I've now successfully created a WF to monitor the Incoming Scans folder. When a new Template is set, it will change the Owner name to the user's name. Therefore, those of us monitoring new documents can add this column (Entry Owner) to see who we need to get in touch with for further training on scanning.
