Question

Using Laserfiche to store documents to be accessed by website

asked on January 6, 2016

We want to be able to create a document from an outside software and snapshot it into Laserfiche.  This document, and others, would be stored in a specific folder in Laserfiche.  Then, we have a third-party website that would want to access a pdf of the document.  The third-party website would be able to find the appropriate document based on the metadata for the particular document it is wanting to access.  I know this is a very limited amount of information but, based on what I've provided, is this something that can be done with Laserfiche?  Please let me know.  Thank  you.

Hi Tate,

How about using WebDAV and Sardine to access the PDFs in Laserfiche from a Java server? I assume your website is running on a LAMP server or something similar.

You can use the Laserfiche SDK to import documents, run searches, and export documents.  You can't currently do server-side snapshotting, so if you do need to extract tiff pages from an electronic document you might need to look into another way of doing that.
