Logic behind Direct Approval in Laserfiche Forms

asked on December 29, 2015 Show version history

Hi all,

I've tried looking for this answer but can't seem to get the details of how this work.

I know direct email approvals do some sort of logic checking in order to determine the decision that was made, which i also am curious to understand how it makes that decision. But, i'm hoping we can leverage the fact that the system is doing the comparison means that it is extracting the email reply's content.

Our use case is that we want to capture what is in the email reply. Is that possible? We want to have users reply back with a bid amount, and then see if we can do some javascript logic or WF with that bid amount. Thanks!

Hi there,

Currently it reads the first line for the Action. So you cannot capture other things than the Action.

If it allows to capture extra things as Comment for this User Task, will it be helpful?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. If it captures the first line for auction, is it possible to have access to the string it captures? Capturing extra things will be helpful, but i would also need access to the string captured so i can process it in java script or something. For example,

Someone would reply back in an email "Approved-15.00" and then I  can intake that it is approved and then know the amount they approved.

It's not possible to access the string it captures for now. I'll take your use case back to product team.
