Question

corrupted volume.id file

asked on December 28, 2015 Show version history

We have a client who got an error message when trying to encrypt a volume.
"Volume currently locked or in use (9022)"

If you try and switch it to read only it gives another error message.
"Fixed path to a volume must either be empty or contain a valid VOLUME.ID file and may not be a subdirectory of the current fixed path. (9264)"

The database name was changed at some point which is why it is reflected incorrectly in the Volume.id.

So can we just change the database name in the volume.ID file to resolve?

Hi Ben,

You should be able to copy the volume.id file from a functioning volume and rename the volume hex and Database name to what Laserfiche is expecting. To see what Laserfiche is expecting to find, look in the dbo.vol table and correlate all the information found in the vol_Name & Localid columns to the volume you are having issues with. Then try again. The database name I believe is the repository name, but hopefully this information should be enough to point you in the right direction.

Good luck and hope this helps! smileyyes
