Empower VM available?

asked on December 24, 2015

Will there be a VM provided this year? If so, will LF 10 or 9 be installed on it?

Hi Claude,

The virtual machine for the conference will be available in late December or early January. You can download the VM from the conference website once it's available or install it onsite at the Information Center starting January 11. The Information Center will be located in the Seaside Lobby.

The VM will run Laserfiche 10, with the exception of Quick Fields.

Please note the following technical requirements -

The virtual machine runs Windows Server 2008 R2, and requires the following minimum hardware in order to run:
•    64-bit Windows 7 or higher OS for the host (laptop) machine
•    VMWare Player 7
•    Intel i5 CPU or better
•    8 GB of RAM
•    at least 50 GB hard drive free space, SSD recommended

Hi Melissa,

Will a notification be sent out to let us know when it's posted? If not, can you point me to the Conference page where the info will be displayed?

Thanks,

Michael

We would like that as well. With the conference a week away, we need time to set it up on our machines and for the clients we have inviteed. Thanks!

Since some people have encountered issues extracting the VM, I wanted to point out that many built-in zip utilities in Windows can't handle archives over 2 GB. You should be fine so long as you use either 7-zip or winrar. This includes the self extracting .exe version - you can open it fine, so long as you open it through 7-zip or winrar instead of trying to open it directly.

Sorry about the inconvience there.

Hi, Melissa, Justin,

I have Laserfiche VM that brought back from the conference. However, it just been set up well at my working PC, because my laptop don't have enough process RAM. It will expire by March 1st 2016, Would you please make it available longer, so I will have some more time to practice? Our county is already purchased the laserfiche 9.2 and be ready to update to Laserfiche 10.  Thanks!
