Canon DR-G1130 TWAIN Scaning

asked on December 22, 2015

Most scanners with the TWAIN or ISIS drivers in laserfiche scanning have the feature to Automatically detect paper size.

The Canon DR-G1130 has the feature when using the Canon Capture Perfect 3.1 software.  But when you use the same TWAIN driver within Laserfiche that feature for auto detect paper size does not show up.  Is this a setting issue in Laserfiche?  Or do some auto detect options not pass through to Laserfiche?

Do you have Kofax VRS installed? I recommend using that approach with this scanner as it comes with a basic copy free that you can download. It will give you access to the driver settings you are looking for. Make sure you choose Kofax VRS as your scan engine and not TWAIN if you do this.

TWAIN is not much of a standard, so lately scanner manufacturers tend to add features to the application bundled with the scanner that are outside of the driver specifications. We'd have to actually get the scanner and debug it to see if that's the case. Not impossible, just time consuming. I'd second John's suggestion of using Kofax if that's an option.

I don't really know much about Kofax VRS for canon scanners.  The other computers have their Scan Connect working just fine and are pulling numerous scanners.

the company has Scan connect on another computer, but their company doesn't show they own Scan connect.  They were once licensed for it.  Is that license universal or is it only attached to one computer.
