How to capture Microsoft Document Metadata

asked on December 14, 2015

This has come up a couple of times for me recently. Prospects who are interested in Laserfiche would like to retain some of the metadata associated with Microsoft office documents including "last modified," "date created," etc. when migrating the documents into Laserfiche.

Is this possible?

Yes.  This is possible, but only in the client, quick fields or import agent, but not in web access.  On your template you can use the following tokens in the client:

%(Name) for the Original File Name

%(FileCreated) for the Original Creation Date

%(FileModified) for the original modified date

Here are some additional token types that might assist you.  https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/9.2/en-US/UserGuide/Laserfiche_Client.htm#Tokens/Token_Types.htm
