Windows Groups in Forms 10 with SSO enabled

asked on December 10, 2015

Is it possible to use windows groups instead of Laserfiche Directory Groups when SSO is enabled in Forms? This is pretty much just for permissions but I noticed when you go to user management in Forms 10 the windows groups don't appear anymore.

There is a fix scheduled which includes a patch to LFDS (10.0 update 2) and changes that are part of Forms 10.2.

This planned fix would allow you to add an AD group directly to an LFDS group such that the AD group itself is included when Forms synchronizes with LFDS.

This is not possible in Forms 10.

We will consider to support this in further release.

Hi there,

There's a workaround that may meet your need now.

So you can set AD sync rule in in Setting - Identity Provider page. LFDS can add the new user in AD group to LFDS group with this rule.

So that your LFDS group will keep up with AD changes.

Where is the setting to add these users to a group with the sync rule? All I see is that you can add the user to an Organization.

Hi there,

Sorry for the wrong info, LFDS is not capable of add user to a LFDS group.

Is this still the case?  Being able to add a user to both organization(s) and group(s) at the time they are synced would be very helpful.

Hi there-

Any chance this will be sorted out in the 10.2 release? We have customers using LFDS authentication with Forms, but the inability to use AD synchronization is becoming quite problematic.

Thanks.
