Question

Question

can a pdf be used as the sample image?

asked on December 10, 2015

We have a customer that wants their invoices ran throught quickfields. They are all PDF documents. I cannot figure out how to import the sample image. If I convert it to Tiff the image changes and the template doesn't work? Is there a settings to allow the sample image to be a pdf instead of TIFF?

After conversion the OCR Zones are not close to being in the same spot as the original PDF that was created. I have to convert the PDF to a tiff  to load it as a sample image. I don't understand why you can't load your sample image as a PDF.

Zone OCR only runs on images. Click on Pre-classification so the image display loads your sample image. Look at the bottom right corner where Quick Fields displays shows the image resolution. Then scan a PDF and generate pages and click on the scanned document. Quick Fields will display the image resolution for the scanned page. If they don't match, the regions for Zone OCR will not be in the same place.

You can add a sample electronic document to the Pre-Classification Processing section if you click on that section in the configuration tree, and then add a sample to that section instead of to a particular document class. This can allow you to see what the sample PDF will look like right after it is captured.

However, I'm not sure what you mean by "the template doesn't work" so I'm not sure if that would solve your issue. Can you clarify?

Also, in pre-classification. The replace sample image by.... doesn't give you the option to import a PDF sample. Same as Document Class sample image
