Inverted images issues in Laserfiche Client 7.2.1

asked on December 10, 2015

I have a customer on Laserfice Client 7.2.1, that has about 300 images whose colors are inverted (text is white and background is black). Is there any way to Invert these images back to what they should be without loosing the attached metadata? Customer does not have Quickfields.  Just wondering if their is a manual way it can be done without losing the metadata.

This is a bug that was fixed in LF 8.0, it was a problem with the way the imaging library we were using at the time misinterpreted some data.  If the image is just black and white, I believe it's fixable by making a minor modification to the TIFF file.  I'm less sure if such a simple approach will work for grayscale images.  In either case, you will probably want to use an image manipulation tool to fix it if Quickfields is not an option.

Hi, a customer of ours is having a similar issue. she's bringing in (into LF) PDF files with various pages  as single PDF files, and the issue is that only random pages are being inverted. The original PDF file does not have any of the pages inverted. and what makes it confusing is 2 users can open/view the PDF file without any pages inverted, while 2 other users see certain pages as inverted on the same PDF file. They have LF Server and Client v8.3.1.663. We have already uninstalled and reinstalled the client, but that didn't work. Any tips? Update? Thanks!

Do you have a test environment where you can install newer versions of Laserfiche Server and Client for testing? If so, please test the affected documents with newer versions. If the problem still persists in the latest version of Laserfiche Server/Client, please open a Support Case and provide the affected documents.

It turns out there were 2 separate issues. The 1st issue was the file imported into LF was done incorrectly, and the result was both electronic and image pages were saved into LF. The 2nd issue was the 2 "good" users were viewing their documents via image pages (TIFF), and the problem only occurred on electronic files (PDFs). The 2 problematic users were viewing the files via electronic files, and therefore had the inverted pages. The user is now aware of the situation and will adjust how they import their files into LF, and will resort to viewing the documents as "Pages."
