Setting default value for a template field

How do you set a default value for a template field that is  a list data type please?

Hi Priya,

Setting the default value for a list field is the same as any other type of field: https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/9.2/en-US/AdminGuide/LFAdmin.htm#Setting_a_Default_Field_Value.htm. You'll be able to select any member of the list as the default, or type in your own/use tokens.

I am trying to add a field onto my template that has a default value I have tried it in a List and as Text and it will not work. It shows it working in the preview but it will now assign on my template. 

 

Am I missing a step?
