Question

My Laserfiche Forms 10 is not able to connect to a data source

asked on November 30, 2015 Show version history

Hi All

I have come across an issue I'm unable to resolve, maybe someone has had a similar issue.

I have SQL 2012 Exp

Laserfiche and Forms 10

Through Forms configuration I browsed to the SQL instance, authenticated with the SA user and created a forms Database without issues.

I now want to add a data source database from the same SQL instance with the same credentials how ever I'm now getting the following error when trying to connect.

Any ideas for where can I start troubleshooting?

PS. This is my local NFR installation.

Hi,

I tried on my machine and can’t reproduce this issue. I need more information about it.There was detail error loged in the events log on the Forms server when the error occured. It can be found from Event Viewer->Application and Service Logs->LFForms. Can you attach it?

Thank you for your help!

Roy, please open a support case and attach the event logs. We'll update this thread once we have a solution.

We checked the error log and the error message is “ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified“.  Forms uses ODBC driver “SQL Server” to connect to the database.  Please check whether the “SQL Server” driver is in the ODBC. If not, please install Microsoft SQL Server ODBC Driver.  If the issue still exists, please open a support case. Thanks!
