Did you mean a) a file includes both image pages and a word document; or b) a word document is attached to an annotation on an image page in a file?

For (a), then the answer is yes. The text of the word document can be searched out. Need to mention that there should be no text page. Otherwise, the text page, instead of the word document is indexed.
For (b), then the answer is no. The the text of the attachment cannot be searched out yet. It is in the backlog.
