Showing Documents in Search Results

asked on November 24, 2015 Show version history

I have some documents where some people can only see the metadata and not the image of the document. When they perform a search for those documents, they are not getting any results. However, the document is present in the folder that they are searching at. Does the search bring up the documents only if the person has rights to see the image?

Thanks

Priya

What kind of search is it? Do you have a sample search query? You can view the search query the client is sending to the server by expanding the "Advanced search syntax" section. Run the search, and the query will appear in a text box under that section.

I am giving the search query below. it is a Customized Search

{[AABS]} & {[AABS]:[Verified Date]>="11/01/2015", <="11/30/2015"} & {LF:LOOKIN="TAMU-Provost\AABS\4 AABS Documents\PVD\Verified"}

Those searches require that the user have Browse and Read access to the entries, as well as Read access to the parent folder. There's no volume access check those searches. So, there's no reason that I can see why users who can browse to those documents and view their metadata don't see them in the results for that search.
