Settings Lockdown - Laserfiche 10

asked on November 23, 2015 Show version history

Hi All,

The release notes state that in LF 10 you can lock down user settings using the attributes. Anyone know what these attributes are?

Also there was a mention at one point of releasing a white paper with a list of the attributes as of 'x' day. Is there any more news on this?

Cheers!

Hi Billy,

Yes, you can do that in the user attributes section of the Laserfiche Administration Console, specifically under the Everyone group. Basically, you add the SID of the user or group that it applies to (that can even be everyone), of the form:

Name: [Lockdown]UserName

Data: S-1-9-12246189-1740016701-1132536036-2638486445-37810062-896=SearchSettings,DocViewPanes,AnnotationStyle,QuickSearch,AdvancedImport

Note that 'UserName' doesn't impact anything specifically, but it's a way for you to easily see who this applies to.

You can pick one or all of the 5 setting types. Once set, all covered users will get their settings directly from the everyone group, ignoring their own settings.

More specific information can be found at https://support.laserfiche.com/ow.aspx?WebAccess/Settings_Lockdown.

(And my apologies Chris, I must have missed the initial post).

Hi Chris,

I found this in the "What's New in Laserfiche Rio, Laserfiche Avante, and Laserfiche Forms 10" white paper.

In Laserfiche 10, administrators can lock down certain sets of options, either for the entire repository or for specific users or groups. They can then establish a global default that will be used instead. Settings lockdown and global defaults are configured using trustee attributes.

I think "trustee atributes" are configured using LF Administration Console under User / Group properties. I`m not sure tho, i`m looking for an answer to the same question. Hope this helps you. If you have any news about the subject, please let me know.

Have a nice day.
