Question

Change TIIF of place

asked on November 11, 2015

We are generating TIFF of all the edocs on the repository but now we got storage problems. Can I change the

place of storage of TIFF to a NAS unit? if so, how?

First you need to create a new volume for Laserfiche to use. The Admin console has instructions. You will need to use a UNC Path to reference the NAS location.  Your LF server service must have rights to this path.

Once you have created the volume, you can then Migrate the e-docs from the old volume to the new, NAS volume.  Instructions are in the Client help.

Hi Raymond Cruz. Thanks for the answer, now we got another volume, lets say VOL_MAIN, VOL_SECUNDARY...

As I see now we can move edocs, folders with all its files to the new volumen, there is an option to just migrate TIFFs to VOL_SECUNDARY and let all the edoc(electronic pdf, word, excel, etc) in VOL_ MAIN???

I don't understand your question:

To change the volume assigned to a document

  1. From the Folder Browser, select the documents to be migrated.
  2. In the Tasks menu, click Migrate Entries.
  3. In the ClosedMigrate Entries dialog box, under the Destination volume drop-down menu, select the volume to be assigned to your documents

Jorge,

Are you talking about electronic documents separate from images or electronic documents that also have associated image pages?

A Laserfiche entry can have image, text and electronic document components. All components of an entry have to be in the same volume. So you can't separate them. On the other hand, if the images and electronic documents are already separate entries, you can pick and choose which entries you want to migrate to another volume by running a search.

Hi Miruna Thanks for the answer. I was talking about documents that also have associated image pages...

So why I must do to solve my storage problem is put some docs ( TIFF included) in the second volumen.

Thanks both for your answers!!! :)
