Question

In Forms 10, Will you be Able to Assign to a Team Using a Variable?

asked on November 11, 2015

Currently in Forms, I can setup a field and populate that field using a database lookup and then use that variable to assign a user task to an user.

In Forms 10 and the introduction of Teams, will I be able to use a variable to dynamically assign a user task to a team like I can for an individual user?

This feature isn't available in the initial Forms 10 release, but is something that we'll consider for a future release. Thanks for the input.

Thought I would give a use case now that we are actually using Forms 10.

We have several processes that can be initiated by any member of a team. On a couple of them, the form needs to be submitted after a couple of fields are filled out so that it can kick off a Workflow process. For the second user task, we allow the user to select from a list of supervisors for who the next user task should be assigned to. It would be nice if we could include team names in the dropdown list as well, so it wouldn't just get assigned to an individual user, but an entire team. Thanks for considering it.

Has there been any discussion on when or if this will be added to Forms?

This functionality would be very helpful to my processes as well.  Is there any word on a timeline for this yet?
