Wanted to post an update on this.  The following fix may work if you have damaged PDF files to contend with:

  • Export the PDF out of Laserfiche
  • Download and Install Acrobat Reader DC (or later)
    • This latest Reader was able to open the damaged PDF
  • Open the PDF and select File > Print > Print to PDF
    • Save it as a new file, not over the existing file
  • Re-import the new PDF and you should be able to generate pages and OCR

What version of the Laserfiche Client is being used? Can you attach the PDF to this thread? If not, please open a support case and provide the PDF there.

Here is the client version: 9.2.1.635

But unfortunately it's a sensitive case file document so I can't upload it...but I realized other documents I imported could have pages generated on them.  So I exported the problem PDF, and tried to re-import and I get the following error...but after clicking OK it still lets me import, but not generate pages.

A recent upgrade from SQL Express to Full SQL was made utilizing the same detached/reattached database....not sure if that could cause this issue.

Most likely the issue is specific to that PDF or the process in which that PDF was created. This might be something that's fixed in the upcoming Laserfiche 10 release, but it's really just a guess at this point. If you can send the PDF to us through a support case, then we can provide more information.

Thanks Alexander, I'll open a support case and attach the PDF for review.
