Laserfiche Forms - How do I get my forms into my repository when they are blue and not orange

asked on October 29, 2015

This is what my results page looks like for all my forms

This is what it looks like inside the task, no way to tell it to save

I have restarted the server, made sure the service is running, and no errors in the application log. How do I save these forms??

Check your save to repository task in the process modeler.  This is usually an indication that there is a configuration problem with this task, i.e. saving to a folder that the credentials used for the connection does not have create rights, a required metadata field not being populated, etc...  Once this is corrected, you should be able to go back to the results screen and "retry" those which have been suspended.

Building off of Glenn, what you can also do is also make sure within the "Save to Repository" task, you click the green "Edit Profile" and then select the blue "Verify and update", and make sure it checks out. Otherwise, perhaps credentials/rights may have changed resulting in what you may be seeing now. And if there really is an issue, the event logs will note it.

A few other options you can try is

a) creating a new simple forms business process

b) use different credentials within your profile in "Save to Repository"

c) save to different repositories

I am not having any problems saving to the repository. When the system can't save to the repository there will be an event in the event log and the in progress color will be orange. Also I get a retry button. The profile is verified and other forms are going through. I just need these 30 to go, there is no option to make them go. I am left with no other choice but to manually recover them, since they have signatures it is going to be a tricky process.

Chad,

So basically just these specific processes are stuck "In Progress" correct? And the Business process itself when rerun, does not have an issue?

and if that is the case, are you aware as to how they were stuck as such? Did the Forms server crash? did it hang at some point? Did this issue occur within a similar time frame?

The forms service did crash due to a Microsoft DLL fault. However restarting the Forms Service recovered everything and many forms went through, about 50 I think. I just don't understand why these specific forms are not moving, the server is not performing any action right now.

I found out that all the ones showing in progress were actually already saved into the repository, sometimes even duplicates were saved into the repository. So I just stopped all the in progress ones. That is good news I guess but not sure why it was saying they were in progress on Start and Save to Repository when they were already complete.

Super important question. All the ones in blue were entered into the system except a few that look like this

These students claimed they filled out a form, however there is no record of any form and the start link is not something we can click to view a form. The variables however do show the student's info. Does this mean they filled out a form and the software lost their signed form?

Have you tried restarting the Laserfiche Forms Routing Service on the Forms server?

I have restarted the service, the service was the first thing to crash. Since then I have restarted the entire OS. The service is no longer throwing any errors. All of the submissions went through without a problem except these ones that are stuck on start. There is also no way to view the form.

Chad, I would recommend that you open a support case in regards to the forms stuck In Progress.
