List field - Once something is selected, how do you clear the field out?

A customer is asking how someone was able to clear out a list field. I am unable to do so when I try. Is there a command to clear the selected option?

Can you clarify your question with some more context in regards to what application the user is using and what they are seeing exactly?

Are you asking about using the Client and changing metadata such that a document with a list field that previously had a value selected for it is now blank? Could the list have a blank option that someone changed the field to?

Thank you, that was it. On their field they had that checked.
