Currently a customer is experiencing an issue. They currently have Adobe Acrobat Pro 11. They have recently updated from version 10. The current issue is that the PDF does not open in the Laserfiche client. It will only open if the electronic document is opened in its external application. There used to be a setting in Adobe that had the option to select a check box to open the document within the browser which resolved this issue. I was wondering if anyone else has ran into this issue and what they did to resolve it.

So my understanding is you want LF to open the document using the LF Document viewer. Is that correct? If so, in the LF client. Go to Tools > Options > View > Open with. Select Open electronic documents by default Using the LF Document viewer.
This setting is already selected. I have seen this issue before with Acrobat Pro. What I did in the past was change the default program to open as Adobe Reader for PDFs. The issue is if I change the default program to have this the user if trying to modify PDFs will always have to right-click the document to open in Acrobat Pro.
With the above settings, hat application does it open with in the client? Do you have multiple acrobat installations on the machine? Do those show in Programs and features?
What I ended up doing was that I installed Adobe Reader. I then tried to open up the PDF in Laserfiche and there were no issues.
Adobe Acrobat Pro comes with reader. I had seen the reader executable in the installation folder. I did check the add-ons in internet explorer prior to installing Adobe Reader and the add-on was enabled.
I then proceeded to open up a PDF outside of Laserfiche and set the default program to Acrobat Pro so that the user would be able to edit their documents. After this was done I opened a PDF in Laserfiche and it opened just fine in the document browser.
Given that Acrobat Pro comes with reader is there any other reason as to why it wouldn't open within the Laserfiche client?
