Question

Using Workflow's 'Fill Out PDF Form' activity for multiple forms

asked on October 14, 2015

I have a client who has twenty to 30 different PDF forms and she wants Workflow to fill in the Metadata on each form using the triggering entry’s metadata.

What would be the most efficient way to do this? I was going to use the 'Fill Out PDF Form' activity in a loop but I would need to change the form every time through the loop and I do not see a way to do that. Can that be done in a script?

Sorry for the late reply. There is no way to dynamically specify PDFs at this time.

Thanks for the reply.

Is it possible to pass a token to the 'Invoke Workflow Activity', that would indicate which workflow to invoke or is it possible to invoke a workflow from a script?

No, Invoke Workflow also does not allow tokens.

Might this be something to be included in future releases?

At least please provide a way to sort through and dynamically fill out a client's PDF forms when the number of forms to fill out is more than 20 and all 20 need the same metadata in the form header/form (header on the first, second through page X).

A Workflow 'Invoke Workflow' activity that allows for tokens would also be appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion, Jerry. I'll see what we can do.
