Question

"Repository Named User" property disabled from some machines

asked on October 12, 2015

Hello,

I have configured a LF Sub-Manager to manage the allocation of Named Licenses to others users in my organization.

This Sub-Manager user has "Manage Trustees" privilege and is a Repository Full Named User.

The problem is that from his PC I cannot change the "Repository Named User" property of any user, even if I login to the Administration Console using the LF Admin user.

While from my machine I'm able to set the "Repository Named User" property to any user, both using the LF Admin account and using the Sub-Manager LF Account.

So the difference is comming from the Machine (PC) being used, or maybe from the Windows account?

Can anyone tell me what I'm missing in this configuration?

Thank you in advance and best regards,

In order to allocate Named User licenses, the Domain Account that you are logged into the pc as must be setup as a System Manager in Laserfiche.

From a pc where you are actually able to allocate Named Users, open the Admin Console, and click on the System Managers node.  Make sure that the desired user's domain account is listed there.

Hi,

To what Group is the user allocated to? The same group as your user?

User access will be over written by group access.

Thanks

Thanks Mike and Gert!

But I have now a question to Laserfiche : System Managers have too much power on the repository: they can dettach it and also delete it! If I only need to assign a HelpDesk to manage Trustees, shouldnt be enough to grant them this Privilege in the Users and Group Configuration tab?

Thanks and regards,

Did you ever figure this out,  I'm running into the same issue that If I'm logged into my computer I can longer change the Repository Named User property or see System Manager information.  I use to and cannot figure out what changed.
