Web Access 9.2.0.67 Scrambling of Headers/Columns

asked on October 9, 2015

I have a client that is having an issue with Web Access.  When viewing documents within Web Access, the column headings state one thing, but the information of the documents listed below are not consistent with the column heading names.  For instance, the column that is title Date Modified, is displaying the page numbers, this is happening with almost all of the columns and it changes when the searches are changed, never being the same as before.

The user has found that the only work-around is to configure the columns and then re-run the search.  Even doing this, the user cannot find a way to add either of the two disappearing columns, which are the right-most two columns of data.

Is this a known issue and is there a fix for this?

I have attached a screenshot of what the user is seeing.

Hi Lana,

We haven't run into this issue before. Does this issue occur with one user, or all users on the system? If it's only one user, I'd recommend backing up the attributes for that user, then resetting them to see if that fixes the issue.

Otherwise, I recommend opening a support case. Please including the following items:

  • Application event logs from the WA machine (set WA event logging to information and reproduce the issue first).
  • The [XmlColumnDisplay] attribute of the user who sees this issue, exported from the Admin console.
  • The [XmlColumnDisplay] attribute of the everyone group (if there is one applied).
  • A fiddler trace taken while reproducing the issue.

This should give us a good staring place for troubleshooting the issue.

The issue is happening with more than just one user, and they have clarified a bit more about what is happening.

This column header issue happens when the refresh icon in the Web Access toolbar is used.  It doesn't necessarily scramble the columns like I had previously mentioned.  The search-specific column headers titled "Relevance" and "Hit Count" are removed but the data for those two columns still remain.  This makes the data off by two columns and the two right-most columns of data are truncated and disappear.

The user has noticed that when he clicks on the left-most column that remains, the search specific column headers return.  They have stopped using the refresh icon in the WebAccess toolbar, but are still uncertain what may be causing this issue.
