Can we stamp MS word or excel document with Doc ID and Version number in LF repository?

Hi

My client is looking to stamp a unique identification on ,their mainly, ms word or excel documents.   The ID would be EntryID and version number.   I didn't think this is possible via regular workflow activities.   Can it be done?  Maybe using SDK?

You would need to modify the word or excel source document itself through the Microsoft interfaces. We don't have any direct control of the content itself. The alternative would be to put information in the documents fields.
