LF Connector For Ricoh - Screen switched to default native function during scanning process

asked on September 29, 2015

Hi,

I have a question in regards to the operation when scanning via LF Connector.
The MFP device setting is configured to be 120 sec auto log out and 180 sec auto reset.

When performing a scan which take slightly longer (eg. 3 mins), the LF Connector current screen will be switchedto the default priority function (for instance the copier function screen) after the 180 sec auto reset is met.

This generally causes disruption to user's operation as user will need to manually switch screen to check the scan status every time it happens.

We have tested that scanning using the native scan function or via a Ricoh Solution will not encounter similar behaviour.  The current screen will not jump to the default priority function even after the 180 sec auto reset is met, mainly because there is a scan job which have not completed processing. It will only happen once scanning is completed.

We would like to know if this is a specification or a bug.
If this is a specification, why is the behaviour different from the native scan or the scanning via Ricoh Solution?

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.

Regards,

Hernani

Auto reset option to the default screen is based on the inactivity on the screen, and not whether a scan is in progress or not. The auto reset can be turned off or alternatively, you can increase the limit up to 999 seconds.

You can download the help files for Laserfiche Connector for Ricoh from here.
