Is there a way to lock down the scanning options so users must scan in black & white, and use 300 DPI for size? Would this be possible using SDK or some way of making these attributes permanent for a user or group?

Hi Amanda,
Currently there is no way to lock scanner settings. I seem to remember seeing this as a feature request on the old forums but can't seem to find it now.
From my understanding, scanner settings are set within the Laserfiche scanning and the information is stored in the registry under HKEY current user. So you could include the settings as part of group policy to roll this out to the users in conjunction with Laserfiche attributes for other settings. This would refresh everytime the logged off/on, this wouldn't however stop them changing it, but it would revert back after log off/on.
I think the long and short of this is that the users need educating not to change the scanner settings and make them aware of the reasons why, (file size being the obvious one!).
Hope this helps!
They're not under Laserfiche's control. For ScanConnect and Kofax, the scanner driver creates a local file and stores them there. You can make the file read-only, so they'll default to those values every time LF Scanning is opened. The user can still change them afterwards, but they will not save once Scanning is closed.
