Question

Feature Request - dynamic fields, bidirectional lookup

asked on September 24, 2015

Hi All,

I've had a look around the answers site for this request but didn't find anything that was exactly the same.

Would it be possible in future versions of LF to have a bidirectional lookup available for dynamic fields?

So lets say a customer has 'client number' and 'client name' fields. Currently Laserfiche can be set so that when you pick a client name, the number is automatically populated, or it can be set so that when you pick a client number the name can be populated. It would be nice if this was enabled to be bi-directional, so that when you pick either value, either one is populated. I know you could use other options like workflow to populate the other one in reverse order, but that isn't directly in front of the user at the time of indexing a document.

Cheers!

Hi Chris,

I looked into this today. It's not supported in the Laserfiche Server - even without the admin console restriction it wouldn't work - but it definitely sounds like we may be able to add support for it in a future version. I can't say for sure where that would end up on the feature list though, but it's on our request list.

Hi All,

Did this make it into 10.2? I can't see the option anywhere so I'm guessing not, but just wanted to confirm?

Cheers!
