Question

Process for scanning negatives?

asked on September 23, 2015

Does anyone have any tips for scanning negatives. We have some negatives that need to be scanned - using reverse image setting?  We have had some issues using this setting in the past and just wondering if there is anyone out there that has experience with scanning negatives.

Hello Heather,

I would recommend looking into a scanner with film scanning capabilities.  Running a quick internet search shows that a film scanner is really key to processing photo negatives correctly.  The film scanning function scans in photos with a higher resolution which preserves the dpi and the software on the scanner is more tailored to processing photo negatives.

In regards to the reverse image setting, are you referring to the invert option in Quickfields?  It would be helpful to know specifically what difficulties you are coming across.
