Shorten Text Box Annotations

asked on September 22, 2015

The text box annotation always ends up longer than the actual text entered. We have a customer who needs to use this often to update a document and the length of the text box covers up other important information. Is there a way to change the default length or set it to snap to the entered text size?

Hi Chad,

Text box annotations should be able to snap to the size of the entered text in the Laserfiche Document Viewer after clicking outside of the box. Can you give us a few more details on how your customer is using text boxes? For example, is the text box added through Quick Fields or Workflow, or is it created in the document viewer? Are they changing any properties such as the font size?

You might also want to check on the DPI of their images, since the annotation size seems to be related to the DPI in some cases where the text box has seemed wonky.

In Client 9.2.1, my experience is that if I have previously resized the text box, then it will still stay that size when the text doesn't fill the space. Screenshots would be helpful to figure out what's going on in your case!
