Question

Split Document Button/Feature not available?

asked on September 21, 2015

Hi,

We are currently running version 9.2.1.562 of the Laserfiche desktop client. I'm trying to locate a split document button/feature to quickly split documents. The following link describes this feature: https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/9.2/en-US/UserGuide/Laserfiche_Client.htm#Scanning/Splitting%20Documents.htm?Highlight=split

However, I'm unable to locate this button (I'm one of the LF administrators, so it's not a permission issue). Is the support document not up to date or am I missing something?

Thanks

Please confirm that you are using Laserfiche Scanning with the "Standard" user interface as opposed to the "Basic" user interface. After you scan a document, select it from the Revision pane and then change the page away from page 1. Then the "Split Document" button should become active.

Hi Alex,

We don't have Laserfiche Scanning. We use the desktop client to and this is how the screen looks when we open a document: Is the feature not available in this version? Thanks for your reply.

The web help you linked to in your original post is for Laserfiche Scanning. In the desktop Client, you can multi-select the thumbnails and using the the right click context menu, choose to make those into a new document.

Thanks Alex. That is how the users are currently doing, but they would like a button (if available) to help them process the documents faster.

Would using the Ctrl+D keyboard shortcut to create new document be an acceptable solution?

Hi Miruna,

Thanks. It is a handy shortcut.

What if we are using webclient?  Is there a shortcut key or way to split the documents?
