Can we limit version control in Laserfiche 9.2 to specific type of document change?

Can we limit the version control to only increment when electronic document changes not any other activities such as set template or change.

Currently my client has a filing system that assigns template from parent folder to new documents. So, When the client saves the file into the laserfiche, laserfiche creates version 1 and once ms word is closed (which unlocks the document) the document inherits template (by workflow) from the parent folder. Than its version changes to version two 2. Version number is also attached to file name. Client is only interested in the version to change when there is only change to the file.

I there a way to do this?

There's currently no way to do this with Laserfiche, but we'll take this request into consideration for a future release. Thank your for your feedback.

In the meantime, you might be able to use link groups to keep track of the different versions of your edocs, although that requires a separate entry per version.
