Question

Connector Icon either not showing up or disappears.

asked on September 17, 2015

We have configured a couple of workstations with the Connector. One workstation we were able to get to work with a third party app, however the connector will show sporadically and will disappear completely at other times. The other workstation i cannot get the Connector icon to even show in the application. A times it appears that the icon might be there just hidden behind the application, like the app is opaque and you can see through it, if that makes sense. Anyone run in to these issues?

Hi Eric,

I have definitely run into this with a couple applications and have not been able to really figure out why. The keystroke still works even though the icon shows up for the applications I have seen this issue on. Generally the users have found using the keystroke option to be okay.

I've run into this issue as well once before. This might be due to the positioning of the icon. I believe it is stored within the registry with its x,y coordinates. Based on the resizing of the window I believe it moves along with this at a fixed position. I would try to check the registry I believe at location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Laserfiche and check within there for a profile for the connector.

A Support case has been opened for this issue.  The thread will be updated when we know more.

Hello Raymond,

I was wondering if you had an update on this issue.  I also am seeing this on 2 of 3 workstations that are using one specific profile created with Connector 9.1 for a specific window in our billing application.  I have upgraded Connector on these workstations to 9.1.  I must also note that other profiles running on these same workstations and within the same billing application are working without issue, however, these profiles were created with Connector 9.0.
