Question

Enabling Scan and print features to specific groups

asked on September 17, 2015

Hi all,

I want to enable the scan and print features for specific groups of persons. I have already assigned these feature rights on the groups but still, these functionalities are grayed out on the user account.

Thanks

Kind Regards,

Sheila

Hi Sheila,

Printing can only be controlled by using the feature right. Don't forget you have to log out and log back into Laserfiche for the rights change to take effect.

Scanning is slightly different in that not only does the user need the scan right, but they also need the create document right on the folder which they are browsing, and also need to have the Laserfiche scanning components installed. Failure to have any one of these 3 components missing will grey out the scan button.

Hope this helps! smileyyes

The printing feature has been enabled on the group. But, still after logging out, the Printing is showing disabled.

Interesting... Do you have a screenshot of where you are seeing the print greyed out? I'm assuming the user can print from other applications?

Are they in a group that has printing explicitly denied?  A denied check on a user/group will override an allow from another group.

Print is a feature right on a user/group. It can only be enabled, you can't deny this right like you can on folder rights...frown

Infact, I want to disable the Print feature right on a specific folder for a specific user / group. Print feature right cannot be granted at folder-level. Thus, there is no solution to achieve this..

Thanks

smileyAh ok. Well I guess this will have to be a feature request instead.
